I was here when Obama replaced George W. Bush. People were dancing in the street. This time is bigger. Lower Manhattan hasn’t been this happy for years.
Friends and colleagues from around the world are emailing congratulations.
For me personally, since I love my sustainability work, I look forward to losing the government pushing to sell public lands to fossil fuel interests, disregarding pollution, and such—not having to swim upstream as much. America has some of the most beautiful natural land in the world and a long history of stewardship, however little nearly everyone today has strayed from it.
For all the joy people feel now, I believe they’ll feel more when we’re breathing cleaner air and everything that comes with it.
Still, I don’t expect a sustainability cake-walk under Biden either. Sustainability work is just beginning, but I envision the US going from leading the world in polluting to leading the world to stewardship.

“I don’t accept any of this,†Charles Tuttle, 59, said while puffing on a cigar. “This is a sad day in America if this stands.â€
I criticized people here chanting “Not My President!” four years ago and I criticize that sentiment the other way today. Likewise no matter who it comes from:
“Obviously, he’s not going to concede,†Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, says at a news conference in Philadelphia that was scheduled before the race was called.

“The simple fact is this election is far from over,†Mr. Trump said in the statement, which was sent by his campaign at around 11:45 a.m.
