I’m sympathetic to people who wanted Hillary Clinton to win. I didn’t want Trump either.
But I’ve read the Constitution and it’s very clear.
If you believe Hillary Clinton was the most qualified candidate, I suggest you read the Constitution, Article 2. It clearly states the qualifications for the office—mainly to be
- A naturally born citizen,
- at least 35 years old,
- having lived in the country for 14 years,
- not having served two terms already, and
- having won the electoral college vote.
That’s it. We all knew the rules before. Hillary Clinton got four out of five of those qualifications, but not the fifth. Donald Trump got all five.
Everyone who talks about her being more qualified for having spent so much time in the White House, in the Senate, and as Secretary of State misunderstands the Constitution and I believe that’s a main reason she lost and that you lost too.
There are no two ways about it. According to the Constitution of the United States of America, Donald Trump is the most qualified person to be President. I don’t see any other interpretation. I’m happy for someone to correct me.
People seriously misunderstood how to get elected. The more I learn about leadership, the more I learn that trying to motivate people with facts and logic doesn’t work as well as connecting with them with empathy, compassion, self-awareness, humility, and other emotional skills, skills Clinton seriously lacked.
I’m continually surprised at how much people call Donald Trump a sociopath or narcissistic. While he may not speak to them, many others felt he spoke to them. They felt he represented them and that he is motivated to help his country.
I see deep misunderstanding of people, lack of empathy, fear mongering, misunderstanding of the Constitution, and petulance in Clinton supporters. He led people to support him more effectively than she did. By the rules we all agreed to, he led more effectively than she did. You could say she led better by rules that aren’t in the Constitution, but I don’t see the relevance.
People can act how they want, but I bring this up because there are major issues I disagree with Trump on and generally agree with Clinton supporters on. If all these supporters keep acting the way many do, they will undermine our ability to influence and lead by alienating Trump’s supporters. He will move forward with pipelines, undermining regulations, and so on. To say nothing of his social and medical programs.
Society and our population can’t sustain much more carbon dioxide and other pollution and dwelling in misunderstandings of the past isn’t helping.
We have to get things done.
